Assistant Accountant

Our client, a well respected and leading import/export and distribution business, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team and provide support to the Financial Controller. This role will be on a permanent part-time basis working Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:00pm.In this role, your duties will include but are not limited to;

  • All aspects of Accounts Payable and Receivable functions
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Assisting with preparation of quarterly BAS
  • Assisting with monthly management and reporting of accounts as directed
  • Assisting with monitoring statutory tax requirements
  • Inventory management
  • Data entry of accounting information
  • Prepare and maintain accounting files and reports
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets
  • Process rebates and issue credits
  • Process receipts for payments
  • Assisting with month-end processes
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register

Our client is seeking a candidate who has;

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
  • 4+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Sound problem solving skills
  • High degree of confidentiality
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
