Our client is a part of a global OEM power technologies company with over 3000 people in 16 countries worldwide.

The Australian business operates in the renewable power generation sector and is providing key equipment for the Mortlake Wind Farm located approx 35 mins NW of Warrnambool.

The power generation sector, including the Clean Energy sector, is an essential service, and the energy industry is taking the health and safety of workers and the public with the utmost seriousness. The Clean Energy sector have implemented a wide variety of extensive measures to identify, mitigate and health risks to the workforce. With careful consideration, this project is going ahead, and we expect these roles to commence in late May 2020.

Role Overviews
QA Technician
  • Start – End May 2020
  • Duration – 25 weeks+
  • Ute Provided

Review materials as they arrive on-site, assessing the condition to achieve the quality standard defined. This role combines hands-on site work, as well as office-based documentation and computer work;

  • Inspect and record the condition of materials & equipment as it arrives on site.
  • Open non-conformities in the customer system and manage the actions required to solve the non-conformity.
  • Skills required for this role:
    • Electro-mechanical knowledge
    • MS Office suite, email and regular IT Skills
    • Read and understand electrical schematics.
    • GWO (Global Wind Organisation) ticket an advantage. This ticket is mandatory and training can be provided for those who currently do not hold the WHO
    • Fluent English
Repair Technician
  • Start – End May 2020
  • Duration – 25 weeks +

Working in the field, fix & repair any damage identified through quality inspections, to rectify the non-conformities of the materials;

  • All the repairs carried out to client specification.
  • Skills required for the role:
    • Hands-on maintenance and repair skills.
    • Blade repairs, use of paints, resin, and chemicals.
    • Setting, drilling using power and hand tools.
    • Email and regular IT Skills
    • GWO (Global Wind Organisation) ticket an advantage. This ticket is mandatory and training can be provided for those who currently do not hold the WHO
    • Fluent English.
QA Inspector
  • Start – Early June 2020
  • Duration – 20 weeks+
  • Ute Provided

Perform final QA/QC inspection before the commissioning of the turbine and associated equipment.

  • Follow an inspection checklist covering the entire wind turbine generator.
  • Checking the correct installation and torque with a torque wrench or hydraulic tools.
  • Report the findings and schedule a new inspection to check pending non-conformities of the turbine.
  • Skills required as follows;
    • Electro-mechanical Knowledge
    • MS Office Suite, email and regular IT Skills
    • Read and understand electrical schematics.
    • Fluent English
    • Wind-turbine experience.
    • GWO (Global Wind Organisation) ticket an advantage. This ticket is mandatory and training can be provided for those who currently do not hold the WHO
    • Use of hydraulic pumps to check torque.
    • Setting & drilling using power and hand tools

Upon completion of the construction, there is the potential of 2x positions to be based on-site on a permanent basis to provide operational and maintenance support to the operating wind farm.
